Yellowstone Family Trip-0
Nancy and I are heading to Yellowstone National Park. We will be meeting our daughter and son and their spouses, and our three grandchildren there for a short vacation. As the youngest is only 4, we will not be doing any epic backpacking trips, but we do have a rafting trip, lake cruise, and chuck wagon cookout planned.

Right now there is a Winter Storm Advisory in effect for West Yellowstone with feels-like temps in the low 20s and highs in the low 40s. Snow in the higher elevations. Great way to start a summer vacation.š

Feeling a bit sorry for our daughterās family, as they are coming from Texas and are having trouble imagining temps that low. Hopefully, they will bring enough warm clothes for themselves and the grandkids.

Hannah and I had an epic trip to both Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks last summer. Though crowded, the parks were still most enjoyable. We stayed in an Air BnB in West Yellowstone and commuted into the park. Where will you all stay? That’s chilly willy for Yellowstone. Ten years ago, Hannah and I planned in early June to hike in the Tetons and Yellowstone. There was three feet of snow on the trails in early June!! We went to Missoula, Montana instead!
Hey Dan, We too are staying in an AirB&B in West Yellowstone. Nancy and I both worked in the park as college students and both our offspring as well as my son-in-law worked there in their college years. I was there in 2019 hiking the Continental Divide Trail that goes through Old Faithful. But this will be the first time back for the kids and Nancy and the first time ever for the grandkids. Weāre all excited to be going and to be doing it together.
I read your blog posts on your visit last year and you were my inspiration for us giving it a try this years. So thanks for the idea!
