Glad to hear you’ll be hitting the trail in the Land of Enchantment later this month. You are an inspiration to keep the motor running as long as you can. Wildfires in NM? Seems like I think of the West as always burning. You two and Hannah and I are fortunate to live in areas with readily available health care that delivers in a timely fashion.
This late in the summer, water can be a problem, but apparently they have gotten some moisture and August has traditionally been when they get their “Monsoon Season.” So fingers crossed. As to fires, so far no fires anywhere near where I’ll be hiking. Although monsoon season comes with lightning storms, so there is that. Keeps life interesting!
