Yellowstone Family Trip-1
We were out our door at 3:30 a.m. and having an airport breakfast at 4:10. Our flight left on time, and we landed in Denver two hours later. Our son and daughter-in-law were waiting for us at the gate, having arrived earlier from New Orleans. Then the four of us walked over and met our daughter, son-in-law, and the three grandkids as they arrived. We had a couple of hours in Denver for lunch, and then we were all off to Bozeman, MT, on our final flight of the day.
The rain was coming down as we landed and continued as we drove our 12-passenger rental van over to the local grocery store. An hour later, with $500 worth of groceries for the week on board, we grabbed a quick dinner at Wendy’s and drove south. We pulled into our AirB&B in West Yellowstone at 7 p.m. Everyone was pretty tired, so we put the kids to bed and then the adults followed suit.
It sounds like the opening day of our trip to Yellowstone! Amazingly, there is a direct flight from Boston to Bozeman! Who knew? Did you take pictures at the arch heading south from Bozeman? I’m guessing you had a pretty full day and some tired kiddos. On to Old Faithful? Isn’t the Madison River into the park from West Yellowstone classic mountain west? Along the route years ago we were stopped by buffalo in the road for 45 minutes. Hoping you see some of the big fellas. A 12-person van! I’m impressed!
Hey Dan, since it was late in the afternoon when we left the airport area, we drove straight south from the airport to West Yellowstone on highway 191. So we didn’t see the Roosevelt Arch that day. And yes we had tired kiddos and tired adultos. Tomorrow is the Old Faithful day.
