Mark’s Photos #18

Along the Continental Divide Trail in New Mexico you traverse a series of mesas between the towns of Grants and Cuba. Right out of a western movie set, these sheer sided flat top hills of red rock are iconic. I had just climbed up a trail through a breakdown section of the escarpment of one particular mesa and found a couple of mesquite trees on top for my hammock. From this flat top perch I had a commanding view of the surrounding territory. I started to make dinner in the fading light. As the sun started to drop below the horizon I looked around to see this sky.
