Mark’s Photos- #25

In the first week of November of 2012, I talked Scatman into going to the Gila Wilderness for a short backpacking trip. It was cold. Like in the low 20’s at night, but the days were in the 50’s and sunny. So our wet socks and shoes were frozen solid when we put them on in the morning. But the hiking during the day was great. What made it better was that the fall colors were in their full glory. And for my money, the best displays were by the sycamores in the canyon bottoms. Massive old trees with their bleach-white smooth bark and orange and yellow leaves. They were stunning. Well worth the cold feet.

  1. Great to have a hiking buddy like Scatman! Frozen shoes and wet socks. You gotta love the burn of the trail. And also, nearly a half year of photos. Congrats.
