Mark’s Photos #5
It was April first of 2021 and I was training for my upcoming hike on the Continental Divide Trail. On the day of this photo I was doing a 20 mile hike starting in Eugene and hiking out 10 miles to the Fern Ridge Reservoir and back. I had started about 5:30 a.m. and was an hour into my walk. I was walking west and not paying much attention to the sun coming up behind me. I chanced to glance back and realized the clouds were in perfect position and this sunrise could be a jaw dropper. As fate would have it, there were a couple of small shallow ponds a few hundred feet from my path and they were full of ducks. I trotted over to them and took a couple dozen pics as the sun and clouds put on a show. It was spectacular.

PS- I just realized this photo is being posted on April Fools Day. Unfortunately, there is nothing tricky or meant to fool you in it. Just a boring real picture. 😐

Beautiful!
Thanks, Sue. It really was a kind of magical sunrise.
Clouds! They explode the sunset in California each evening when they show up, which they don’t always do. Or do in the extreme (cloud cover). As a kid/adult my favorite colors were the combo of red, orange, and yellow. Sunrise! Sunset!
There is nothing like a good sunrise to make my day.
