About Me

Hi, my name is Mark Hurd, but on the trail I’m known as SlowBro. I started long distance hiking in 2014 after I retired. My first thru-hike was the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). That was followed by the Colorado Trail (CT), the Arizona Trail (AZT), the Continental Divide Trail (CDT), a portion of the Appalachian Trail (AT), and the Oregon Coast Trail (OCT). Along with extended local hike here in the Northwest, I have logged over 10,000 miles (16,090 km) on trails in the US.

I started out on the Postholer.com/slowbro site where most of my content still is, but I intend to transfer that content to this blog site over the next year. If you are interested in my previous adventures on the Pacific Crest, Colorado, Arizona, Continental Divide, or Appalachian Trails, this link- Postholer.com/slowbro will take you there and links to the various trails will be at the bottom of the page on that website.

So this site here represents my personal journal of my preparation and then hiking of each trail. Hope you find it interesting and …

Happy Trails,

Mark (SlowBro) Hurd
