The Whole Trail in One Day
Well, tomorrow I hike into Lincoln City and end my journey, but what I want to talk about is today. The last 24 hours has been an encapsulation of my whole OCT adventure.

Yesterday afternoon I was climbing the sand dune that is part of Cape Kiwanda, like I did south of Florence. Then last night I stayed in a hike/bike camp as I have done many times on this trip. It was in a busy tourist town, Pacific City, like I traveled though during the first part of my trek. I had breakfast at a coffee place this AM which is a wonderful option on this trail. Then I took a bus 7 miles to skip a 7 mile road walk. Something I have also done before in North Bend. I walked 4 miles on a beautiful sandy beach, had a conversation about the trail with a local in Neskewin, and walked 2 miles on 101 to get to the trailhead for Cascade Head. Then it was a climb up 700 feet through old second growth and some old growth forest that was just cool and stunning. There was even a section of sketchy landslide trail to cross on Cascade Head. And tonight I am camped in the forest in my hammock.

Except for river crossings and Cappuccino to share all this with, the last day has had a little of everything this trail has to offer. Seems fitting.
Tomorrow after a short piece of trail, I will road walk into Lincoln City where I will hang out until Nancy comes to pick me up. I plan a final blog from the trail tomorrow and then I will post my thoughts on the OCT next week. Stay tuned…
Happy Trails…
